There were many smiling faces last week as Fisherman’s Mark handed out brand new school bags chock full of school supplies to 115 children who otherwise would not have been able to walk back into school prepared for their new school year.
These supplies were made available to Fisherman’s Mark client families as well as any local family in need. This has been a successful initiative of Fisherman’s Mark for more than eight years and is integral to its mission to strengthen the community through programs and services that promote stability, health, and education.
This event was made possible by the community, spearheaded yet again by Zanya Salon and Spa, which offered special discounts for anyone donating a filled backpack at their salon. Zanya collected 74 backpacks and made a monetary contribution to ensure that all bags would be filled with everything needed. Additionally, participants who dropped off items with River Valley Realty were entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to Lambertville Station. Lambertville Elks solicited donations of school supplies from its members. And to wrap it all up and ensure success, many donations of bags and supplies were donated by individual supporters in the community.
