Hurricane Ida Relief Grant Program
Fisherman’s Mark Hurricane Ida Relief Grant is a need-based program available to existing Fisherman’s Mark clients. Clients have already demonstrated substantial financial need. Approximately $200,000 in funds will provide relief to our clients and their families who suffered property damage, required related repair services, lost housing, or are behind in utility payments as a result of the hurricane. Awards will range from $250-$12,000 and may include rental assistance for up to 12 months.
Eligibility: Clients of Fisherman’s Mark whose living conditions or finances have been impacted by flooding from the hurricane and who have filled out Lambertville’s Storm Damage Report are eligible to apply. Clients have already demonstrated substantial financial need by qualifying for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), SSI (Supplemental Security Income), and/or WIC (Women, Infants, and Children).
Outreach: Clients who we know have been affected will be contacted by phone. Applications will also be available at the food pantry, the administrative offices.
Selection: Once received, a selection committee of the Fisherman’s Mark Board, staff, and/or volunteers will review applications received and determine which applicants are most in need of financial assistance. Coordination and crosschecking with other agencies will take place to ensure there is no duplication of funding among recipients.
Payment: Recipients of the grant funding will not be paid directly except for in the case of a repair or replacement bill that has already been paid and has caused financial hardship. Payment will be made to landlords (monthly) for rent; to stores where needed items are sold; to automotive dealerships or other sellers of replacement vehicles; to utility companies, etc. These purchases/payments will be made on behalf of the clients. Fisherman’s Mark will not act as tenant or owner of goods.
